This page has all of the event safety details that you need to know about for 2026. If you can’t find what you’re looking for then head to The Relay Hub or Stage where a committee member will be able to help you out!

QUICK LINKS

CAMPING

The camping zone can be found in the middle of the track.

  • This camping area will not be quiet overnight. Music will be lowered from 11:30pm, but some noise is expected.
  • Space may be limited, so please camp considerately and only use the space you need.
  • BBQs and fire pits are not permitted.
  • Please take care around shot put indentations in the grass and the camera rail on the inside of the track, especially after dark.
  • Campsites must be cleared by 1:30pm on Sunday. Please wait until Relay has finished before packing up.
  • Please dispose of all rubbish responsibly using the bins provided, or take it home for recycling where possible.

EVENT RULES

 SMOKING
Yate Relay For Life is a non smoking event. Please leave site and cover Cancer Research branding up if you wish to smoke.

DRINKING
Alcohol will be on sale from the Relay Cafe during licensing hours. You are not allowed to drink alcohol on the track. Event and YOSC staff reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.

TOILETS AND CHANGING FACILITIES
Toilets and showers are available throughout the weekend. See the site map in our event programme for more info.

CHILDREN

Children must be supervised at all times and remain the responsibility of their parents/carers. The lost child point is the stage.

Please write your contact number on the back of the child wristband and ensure that they are wearing these at all times- these are available at the Relay Hub.

WEATHER
Please remember to use sunscreen. Water is available at the water station outside the Café. Please take care when walking as some areas may become slippery if it rains.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY

EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
In the event of a major emergency, an announcement will be made via the PA system which will detail what action needs to be taken. In the event of an evacuation, please note the following:-

  • The assembly point is in the main car park.
  • Team captains are responsible for ensuring that all of their team members are accounted for at the assembly point.

 

FIRST AID
First aid is available all weekend. The first aid point will be clearly marked. If you can not get to the first aid point, please alert the Relay or YOSC team.
